Ohh...rainforest means it rains?

When it comes to vacation planning, Mandy and I are pretty thorough, I'd say.  We research a lot of things, one of the important aspects being weather.  Somehow, neither of us put together that rainforest would imply that we'd receive a lot of rain (we're 30 miles south of Hilo in a town called Volcano).  Hmm...it says here that Hilo receives between 130-200 inches of precipitation a year.  Toronto receives around 30 inches a year.  The Amazon Basin receives around 80.  Whoops.

So it looks like we're looking at rain for the first week, haha.  We're at 3700 feet above sea level in this town of Volcano, but it looks if we drive down to sea level and to the other side of the island, it's sunshine and party time.  We're probably going to check this out one of these days soon.  After all, that's where they have the Kona Brewing Company.

Both previous times that Mandy and I have visited, I've immensely enjoyed the taste of Kona Brewery's beer.  This time, I arrived with a little skepticism in the off chance that I was imply being biased.  What better way to test this possibility, then with an Island Sampler pack.

  1. Hey, do you need a good Meat-Urologist to predict the weather for you...I know a great one!
