10 Years Later...

It has been 10 years since we did a Maui/O'ahu trip, so what has changed?

Aside from a few extra lbs., three things in particular... Thing 1, Thing 2

and Thing 3.

I have already become much wiser than when I left for this trip, since I've learned (or re-learned) a vital rule in parenting - everything takes about 5 times longer and although the flight time is about 10 hours, there is little, if any down time. I had grand plans for that block of time and instead, much of it was spent either switching seats or talking about things like the flavours of gum.

Having a 3 hour layover in L.A. to break up the flight was ideal. Here's an accurate representation of how we live;

We finally reached our destination in Kihei on Maui. Everyone fell asleep pretty quickly since it was the equivalent of 3 am except for Milena, who was eating my chicken fingers (which are delicious on the island) and had no problem telling me about it.

Tomorrow should be an interesting day since everyone's circadian rhythms will be off. The excitement for being here though, is nuts. It's going to be a great trip.
