We slowly lumbered out of our condo, cleaning it up to a livable space. But not before a morning snack of Hawaiian sweet rolls.
This might be the biggest snail I've ever seen. He was minding his own business, so I did the same.

Ethan cried because he didn't want to leave Maui and was ready to just live there. Many times he asked me about just living there forever. I asked what about his cousins that he likes playing with so much and he replied "they can live here, too!" Done. We're all moving.
The flight between islands is always a fun one. It takes off, climbs to altitude and once reached, it starts its descent.
We have been to the Aloha Towers each time and this was no different. After a delicious lunch at Gordon Biersch Brewery (Hawaii's most authentic German brewpub), we looked over the pier where the state fish typically hangs out - the Humhumunukunukuapua'a.
Not only is the best name ever, it means "triggerfish with the snout of a pig." They used to have feeding stations here, but they've removed them since we were here last. In fact, most of the shops have been replaced here by the Hawai'i Pacific University. Education over retail? What's next, the flat earth conspiracy is real?

We drove to our rental house just steps from Sunset Point. As soon as we got there, we dropped off our stuff and went right to the beach.
Sunset Beach really is one of the most beautiful places around and as you can see, it's so soft and tame that you can trust your toddlers to roam freely into the waves. Just another example of stellar parenting here. We try to instill independence at a young age.
There was a massive cloud heading our way and we figured it would reach us before the sunset, so we bailed to go and pickup groceries.
Or so we thought. We got to Shark's Cove and the sun was about to set, so we did the right thing and pulled over to watch it disappear for another day. Here, we've got our own version of the eclipse by Ethan. Just pretend you can see that last bit of sun.
