Ka'anapali and Napili

I had read that Napili beach is a beautiful place and a "must see." When we were first here, I don't remember that name at all and really, we had missed a few must see places? Maybe it's because I was so in love that I couldn't see past Mandy. Or maybe I was still hungover from the wedding. Maybe both of those. Literally nobody knows.

I can tell you that Ethan's on the same page. After some shoddy GPSmanship, we made it to one of the nicest beaches in the world and yet he can't take his eyes off his Nutella croissant. I don't entirely blame him.

Apparently these things were so good, Milena didn't see the beach, either.

Anyway, trust me, this beach was incredible.
We spent most of the day here basking in the sun and getting rocked by the waves. From far away, it looks pretty chill. Then you get up close and everyone gets a little timid. Then after a few more minutes (and seeing 2 year olds getting smoked and coming up laughing) it all makes sense. This happens every single time.

After all that sun, it was time for a late lunch and some shave ice...maybe even some shopping, too. Where else better to do it than Ka'anapali, probably the most expensive place on the island. There are a bunch of shops and a small but super fun play space for the kids.

Mandy was a little apprehensive about this structure at first, but I quickly assured her that there was nothing to worry about as I promptly looked away. We still came out with 3 kids unscathed and happy.

This is also where the Hyatt is - which is where Jen, Rowyne, Leila and Mandy would go later at night for the best Luau on the islands, called the Drums of the Pacific. Being parent of the year for 7 years running, I took Milena and Ethan back to the condo for dinner and bed time.
