With miles of beautiful beaches around us, as a child you typically think "what would confuse my parents the most?" Leila and Ethan (and Rowyne) wanted to spend as much time as they could in the pool at the condo. I can't tell you how deep this cut. Every day, they've gotten braver and better at handling the ocean's waves and spending every minute in the water possible. And now this. A chlorinated pool? What is this, Miami in 1986? (not a valid reference)
Since this was our last full day on Maui (and a place with a pool), we spent the morning splashing in the pool, while hearing the tears of an envious ocean just 50 steps away.
After lunch we headed to Wailea Beach, where it rained for about half the time, but it was so nice it made no difference.
After a bunch of waves, Ethan made sure he carved out a GO train on the beach.
We got home and made dinner, then took a night swim in the beloved pool before going back to the condo to pack up for the next day's trip to Oahu.
The kids suggested I join them in the hot tub "because it's so relaxing." Relaxing in a hot tub with kids is as non-existent as safely playing with a bag of broken glass.
With that said, it was awesome to see that they wanted to spend as much time in the water as possible. Oahu should be even more fun!
